club 27

Since I was pretty young I felt like I was going to die when I was 27. I also thought I would be a famous musician, but that never happened. The jury is still out on the death thing. I turn 27 in October and I’ve been thinking a whole bunch about death lately.

While explaining to coworkers today why I felt I might die at 27 we found the club 27 website. You can add to that list Mia Zapata (of the Gits) and blues guitarist Robert Johnson.

I am writing a report on “the 27 club”...Just a few more names to add like Helmut Koellen,Pete Ham,Jason Thirsk,Kristen Pfaff,Freaky Tah,and Arlester Christian. They were all musicians too.

well its me again all i can say is there are alot more musicians in the 27 club than I thought... add Al Wilson, Gary Thain, Wallace Yohn, Jimmy Mc Culloch, Les Harvey, Johnny Kidd, Dennes Boon, Chris Bell, and Jesse Belvin to the list...

Thanks for all of the names. It’s very freaky. I mean, I don’t know how many more died at say 26 or 28, but... Well, I’ve almost made it one month (as a 27 year old) without dying, so I’m happy. But I’m also not a famous musician — as all of my friends like to point out.

I have the poster hanging behind me in my room... but you can’t have it. You should be able to buy it from a poster site on the interweb... (at least I think I have seen it somewhere out there). As for stores, I have no idea.

The name of the guy in the poster (which you can buy here), is Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones.
