the state of the daily daechen

as you may know, blogger.com is a web hosting company which provides a really great service. it’s free and it allows people to quickly and easily set up a web page. otherwise know as a blog. you could do this to... oh, let’s say post a picture of your three month old so friends and family can ogle on a daily basis.

it’s great. that is, until your mom posts a comment, your mom in-law posts a comment, your sisters post comments, etc, etc. and all of them say, “Anonymous”. sure, they could type their name at the end or create an account to setup their own weblog, but they don’t want to. and why should they have to? oh, that’s right. i forgot. because this gives blogger.com (uh, hum. google.com) a larger number of users. which is good for business, good for the economy. which is, according to george w. going to affect our future “security”, you know “socially”. *remind me to rant about this later.*

anyway, i use moveable type version 2.5. it’s outdated. but still a far superior weblog tool (in my mind). much more powerful, as it’s a bit more complicated to setup. the older version i have seems much more prone to “comment spam”, but mt-blacklist works fantastic. plus the new version of moveable type is not free. and i’m broke. (that’s why i’m looking forward to health care reform, but know and knew people who went through the depression. the stock market can crash. what goes up must come down.) errr... where was i? oh, yeah. so, bottom line: you can post comments on the daily daechen now.

p.s. i missed the west wing for that?

You can still download a free copy of MT (version 3.15). It’s just not supported.

I can’t believe it, my co-worker just bought a car for $83051. Isn’t that crazy!
